Crown Imperial Fritillary (fritillaria imperialis): Your brightly colored cluster of flowers is a perennial bulb known as F. imperialis, prized for its downward facing, bell-shaped flowers with green lance-shaped foliage. It grows to about 3 ft. tall and atop the flowers is a tuft of leaves. Needs full sun unless summers are very hot, then provide partial shade and regular water during growth and bloom periods. Continue to care for the plant after the flowers are spent until the leaves yellow and die back. It will return again next spring. Usua
